Bengal Tiger: The Striped Predator

The Bengal tiger (Panthera tigris tigris) is one of the most iconic and powerful big cats in the world. Known for its striking orange coat with black stripes, it is a solitary predator that thrives in a variety of habitats, from dense forests to mangroves.

Bengal tigers are apex predators, essential for maintaining the balance of their ecosystems. However, they face threats such as habitat destruction, human-wildlife conflict, and poaching. Despite these challenges, conservation initiatives like Project Tiger in India have been successful in increasing their population.

The Bengal tiger is not just a symbol of wilderness but also a reminder of humanity’s responsibility to protect and coexist with wildlife.
