Ring-Tailed Lemur: The Striped Ambassador of Madagascar
The ring-tailed lemur (Lemur catta) is one of Madagascar’s most recognizable species, famous for its long, striped tail and vibrant social behaviors. These lemurs live in groups called troops, often seen sunbathing in the mornings to warm up their bodies.
Ring-tailed lemurs primarily feed on fruits, leaves, and flowers, making them crucial seed dispersers in their ecosystems. Unfortunately, deforestation and habitat degradation threaten their survival. Conservation programs are working tirelessly to protect these charismatic primates and the unique biodiversity of Madagascar.
